Adventures and Activities in Bali

Bali is among the most visited islands in Asia. It is known as one of the islands with the very best beaches and waters. It is also one of the world’s best tourist destinations and most of the island is accommodating and convenient for tourists, vacationers and travelers. But aside from the beaches and the beautiful waters, there are so many other adventures and activities available on the island.

There are many adventures not known in Bali and many of them are water activities away from the beaches. When the rainy season sets in, the rivers in the island, including the Arung River, can offer white water river rafting. There are also Waterbom, the local water park located in Ji Karita Plaza in northern Kuta. There are also several fishing activities that can be done in these rivers as well as several locations off the coast.

In the past decade, Bali has become one of the best golf destinations around the world. One of the best golfing locations in the island is in the Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club located in the region near Bedugul. There is also the 9-hole course at the Grand Bali Beach Hotel in Sanur, The Bali Golf and Country Club in Nusa Dua, The Nirwana Bali Golf Club located in Tanah Lot and finally, The New Kuta Golf Course at Pecatu.

There are also several animals parks located all over the island. The biggest park would be the Bali Zoo located in Singapadu near Ubud. There are also several animal reservation parks in the island including the Bali Bird Park, the Taro Elephant Park, and at the Bali Marine and Safari Park located near Gianyar. These parks are open for most of the year in Bali.

For the nature lover and fitness nuts, there are trails available for trekkers and joggers. These trails can be found in several other parks including in the West Bali National Park, the Butterfly Park also known as Tamam Kupu Kupu in Wanasari and the Bali Botanical Gardens in Bedugul. Inside these Botanical Gardens, visitors are treated to a wonderful view at the top of the trail.

Because of the number of tourists that frequent the island there are several companies that provide activities such as Mountain Cycling, hiking and trekking in the hills of Ubud, Paragliding in Nusa Dua, and bungee jumping and horseback riding on the beaches of Seminyak.
