Many people will tell you that using external (free) image hosting to host your website images is the same as using free hosting overall: unsafe, unreliable and generally unadvisable…. Well, this is not exactly like that. So before we go any further, let’s discuss the pros and cons. Why using a free external image hosting service might be a good idea? (1) It’s a good way to save on hosting and bandwidth (especially if you publish multiple images regularly); (2) It can be one of steps to take to speed up your site. Of course, there are some cons: (1) Less control over your images (the service can decide to cancel your account, delete your images, etc); (2) Less reliable: the service may once just close down, etc. Am I using them? – Yes, for those sites where there are many images. Note: Of course, I do optimize the image size before publishing it, but if I have multiple images per page, the page load time will still leave much to be desired (even with a fairly good hosting package) – unlike when those images are hosted on Flickr for example: the page loads pretty fast even with like 50 images on it. Using Twitter for streaming news on one company or business is nothing new. It’s considered perfectly fine to separate your personal Tweets from your business life and maintain several Twitter accounts at a time. This week I am sharing a cool tool called TweetFunnel that allows several people to post to one Twitter account and provides you with really useful options: (1) Grant different users with different rights (those who can contribute and those who can review and approve submitted Tweets); (2) Schedule Tweets for later publication; (3) Manage your whole multiple Twitter accounts from one handy dashboard: The process is really quick and easy: Hit “Try it” in the top-right corner of the page and create your account. You will need to specify your company name, a name to create your custom company URL at the site and login details (email, account name and password). The service requires no email confirmation, so setting up an account is really quick and easy. Login and add your Twitter account (either by Twitter’s secure authentication method or by providing your Twitter account login information). When logged in to your dashboard you will be able to see your Twitter stream and manage your Twitter activity: reply to Tweets, retweet, send private messages, favorite Tweets and schedule Tweets for publication: Now add users (contributors and publishers). Go to “Manage TweetFunnel Users” and add or invite users. There are 3 levels of users: an administrator (who can do everything: he creates the account itself and adds users as well as reviews and publishes Tweets), a publisher (reviews and publishes or denies Tweets) and a contributor (who writes and submits Tweets to the administrator for approval). To add a user, you will need to provide his login and contact details: Once a new contributor logs in, he can see the same dashboard with some limited options. He can create new Tweets and only submit them for approval. The administrator or a publisher can then go to “Review Queue” to moderate the Tweets received from the contributors. He can do the following with the queued Tweets: approve and post, approve and publish later, reject the tweet. Looks like a neat tool, what do you think? The tool has been reviewed under SEJ policy . Thanksgiving has always been associated with family, cooking and lots of food to me. That’s the time when I have to forget about my diet because it is impossible to resist the temptation. And for those who is looking for more delicious recipe ideas for this year’s Thanksgiving, here are my personal picks. Best recipe search engines : Site Name Best search feature Epicurious Filtering by holiday Food Filtering by the recipe provider CookThink Tag cloud serving as search suggestions Cookstr Filtering by chef Epicurious What I love about the site is its “filtering options” available after you perform a search. You can filter your search by: Main ingredient; Meal/ course; Cuisine; Dietary consideration; Holiday (!); Preparation method; Season. You can also go even further and see only those dishes that: Can be paired with wine; Are quick and easy to prepare; Are healthy. Besides, you can search within search results which also turns really useful for finding what you need. Food This site can be a good option to use because it indexes and aggregates results from multiple recipe sites. Irs search options include: Filtering by courses; Filtering by techniques; Filtering by total time you’ll need to cook something; Filtering by country; Filtering by site that provided the initial recipe (!). CookThink CookThink allows for quite a few unique recipe search options to play with. The best of them are: Search for moods (!), health restrictions, seasons, aromas, textures; Search suggestions and aid in the form of a tag cloud (add terms to the search field by clicking them in the tag cloud): Cookstr This one is for the advanced cooks – it allows to search by star chefs and cookbook authors. It also has that “Surprise” button that shows you a random recipe in case you are stuck for inspiration! Its search sorting and filtering options include: Skill level; Dish cost; Kid friendliness; etc Check out the SEO Tools guide at Search Engine Journal . 4 Recipe Search Engines to Find Thanksgiving

We have seen a few social as well as real-time search engines previously, and this whole week is all about a new-comer: Leapfish . In fact , there’s so much buzz around it that I found it necessary to review the tool here and discuss it with our SEJ community. Leapfish is a new social and real-time search engine. In their own words: There is more content, more variety and more services that are all very valuable to us. LeapFish searches the traditional, multimedia and social web and providers results from all over the Internet from major authorities in their respective spaces. Here are some of the database and parts of the web we search; Google, Yahoo, Bing, YouTube, Twitter, Image Authorities, Blog Authorities, Wikipedia, Yelp, Digg, CyberHomes, Yahoo Answers, Amazon and many others from a growing list of providers. First, let’s see how it works for a newcomer: Social, Real-Time and Multimedia

WordPress is one of the most usable and convenient platforms to run a blog. But besides actually publishing your thoughts to the web, WordPress might have another cool use: it is a handy way to store and manage the info you come across daily – it can be turned into your personal collection (either private or public) of topical links and resources organized by tags and categories. Here are 3 tools that make bookmarking links to WordPress easy, fast and fun! While the first two tools extract videos and images as well as the selected text allowing for easier and quicker blog posting, the third one looks a quicker and easier way to create and save a draft without ever going to your blog dashboard. Clipmarks Install Clipmarks FireFox addon and restart your browser; Navigate to the page you want to re-blog; Click the green Clipmarks icon, highlight places in the page you want to copy to your blog page and select “Blog”: If you’re doing this for the first time, you’ll need to set up your blog first. Choose “WordPress” as your blog type (there are many more blog types supported by the way). Provide your blog dashboard login and password; Provide your blog URL; Before hitting “Next” be sure to configure your own blog to allow automatic posting: go to your blog wp-admin, then to Settings -> Writing, then check the “Enable XMLRPC” checkbox and save your settings. After that you’ll be able to see your new post details ready to publication: You can check which blogs to publish to (if there are many of them); Add the post title and your remarks; Customize the clipped text styles (you can remove link to the clipmarks service, customize the border, etc); Publish to blog! Press

by Jason Myers Article writing is necessary to good SEO service making use of 250- 500 word length articles for inviting targeted traffic. These articles can be written with keywords and topics that will invite a stream of visitors from search engines. Additionally good seo articles may be used as content for one of a kind, new, and up-to-date info for your site, we blog, or e-newsletter. Finding a great, effective, affordable and reliable SEO copywriter can be so hard. Why not collaborate with a writer for hire and receive valuable SEO articles created to infuse your sites with a possible torrent of traffic? What to search for in a good quality SEO copywriter? Anyone may say they know SEO article writing but to the determent of your business you must be selective in who you work with. Although it looks like commonsense to research if their own website ranks high it is actually quite the contrary a lot of the experienced SEO writers work under a mentor and would not own the time to boost their personal site if they are actually doing work. The sole reason my sites rank high in this case is for the reason that as a highly skilled SEO writer I train others and they in turn aid to improve my sites copying my techniques throughput the training process, if a novice or virtual worker can’t do well using my sites they never do business for any customer except if it is small support details. So in looking for a writer do not focus on their sites and ask for info on a client’s website that ranks keep in mind due to confidentiality in a lot of the cases the number of customers who provide permission to reveal even the truth that a writer has performed work for them is usual smaller than the actual amount of clients that writer has worked with. If all forms of research fails writers even with smart customers who never wish anyone seeing their niche and therefore creating more rivalry will still offer testimonials. Look for writers with a growing database of testimonials for good work done by previous customers. About the Author: Jason Myers is a professional writer and he writes mostly about seo advice online. He’s also interested in software development .

Sorry about the long title but I just couldn’t think of a better way of expressing my amazement at how much Google knows about my online life/activities. Well, at least for all the things that I do while I’m log in to my Google Account. Google Dashboard – we were just asking about this yesterday and here comes Google officially announcing it. My reaction upon checking http://www.google.com/dashboard? – I was surprised and scared at the same time. In their own words, here’s what the Google Dashboard is all about: Dashboard summarizes data for each product that you use (when signed in to your account) and provides you direct links to control your personal settings. Currently, it covers more than 20 Google products and services right now, such as Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Web History, Orkut, YouTube, Picasa, Talk, Reader, Alerts, Latitude, Profile, Web History and more. From those services, the only one that I don’t use too much is Latitude. I used most if not all of them on a daily basis. Doesn’t it scare you a bit to know that Google knows how many emails you have in your inbox, how many feeds you are reading on Google Reader and more? Well, yeah of course we all know that Google keeps track of these online information and we really don’t mind it at all. But seeing it in on an online dashboard makes it a bit scary. The good news is – you can edit the information. Delete those that you don’t want Google to keep track off. In fact you can practically erase everything and start all over again. But I don’t see the point in doing that. For as long as you haven’t encountered any privacy issues yet, those information are pretty harmless, in my opinion. You know what the clincher is? – With all these personal data and information about us, Google can practically control our online lives. Check out the SEO Tools guide at Search Engine Journal .
